Obeyah’s sound is a fusion of his turntablist dj mentality with track selections pulled from hip hop, dancehall, house and genre-bending burners worked into live mash-ups and seamless blends, giving Obeyah the reputation of creating diverse high-energy sets leaving dance floors asking for more. While djing many high-profile events such as movie premier after parties, fashion shows, club nights and gala events, as well as many performing arts venues as a member of Urban Artistry. Obeyah has created his own path as a producer and dj while staying true to his roots by competing in events such as the DMC dj battles and djing for hip hop legend Buckshot of Black Moon. Obeyah’s dance floor rocking sets have received high praise from his DC contemporaries at the infamous Moombahton Massive events and have taken him as far away as the 2011 Carnivale in Panama as a resident dj at that event. As a producer Obeyah has released music though labels like Top Billin, Rot10 Musik, Sol Selectas and Swedish Columbia gaining support from MTV Iggy, Mad Decent, Mixpak, Generation Bass and many others. His current tracks have made appearances on countless mixtapes, most notably by Brodinski and Nadastrom and have been supported by dj’s such as Tittsworth, Jillionaire, Paul Devro, Sabo, Dave Nada and Torro Torro to name a few.
