Master Class: Learning to Repair DJ Equipment

Technics discontinued its line of turntables in 2010, leaving aspiring and current DJs with the only option of purchasing them second-hand.  In this class, you will learn what to look for when buying used turntables, from basic visual inspection to how each component (pitch fader, tone arm, etc.) should perform.  Also for this class, you will learn how to service and calibrate the turntable’s pitch fader, ensuring proper range and function of the unit.  As an added bonus, this exercise will give the student a visual tour of the inside of the turntable, and how each system works.

Master Class: How to Create a Mixtape and Promote It

This class shows students how to create, record and promote their own personal DJ mix. Starting with song selection and moving through to a finished mix that can be used for DJ promotion, our instructor works with you step by step through the whole process. By using fundamental techniques of DJing to record a live mix or a tracked out studio make mix tape, this class can teach you how to create your first DJ mix tape or improve your next mix.
